File Storage
FileRun uses the existing file system of the web server so:
- you do not need to import your existing files into some proprietary data base.
- you can use other software (FTP, SSH, etc.) to manage the files or for backup or synchronization tasks.
Home folders
Assign separate home folders to your users. Each of them only sees the contents of his own personal folder.
If you need to, you can also set the same home folder for multiple users.
File Upload
- Upload files of unlimited size, no matter the server's configured limits.
- Upload entire folders! FileRun preserves the entire tree structure.
- Drag & drop uploading.
- Transfer resume capabilities
- Progress bar.
- Ability to upload ZIP files and extract their contents with a click.
- You can even import e-mail attachments directly from POP3 mail accounts, without using any email program!
File Preview
- Taking advantage of the ImageMagick program, FileRun can display thumbnails and generate previews for the following file types: JPG, GIF, PNG, PDF, PSD, TIF, EPS and others.
File Versioning
- FileRun helps you keep track of your work.
- FileRun can automatically store different versions of the same file when uploading.
- Powerful file locking mechanism that keeps other users from making changes to a file.
- Ability to lock/unlock files without necessarily upload a new version.
- Download, restore or delete previous versions of the files.
File Searching
- FileRun can index and search the contents of approximately 30 recognized text file formats (plain text files like TXT, CSV, HTML, etc.. ), and also DOC, RTF, XLS, PPT and PDF documents.
- Search files by file name
- Limit searching to specific folder.
- Search files by meta information.
File Editing
- By using the Zoho Writer API, FileRun allows you to edit the following document types : DOC, RTF, TXT, HTML, online, without having to download and reupload them.
WebDAV
Manage files and folders using "WebDAV" technology. Keeping your files synchronized was never so easy.
* Requires PHP to be installed as an Apache module.
** Microsoft's native WebDAV support is broken, so FileRun does not officially support it.
